Estimate import costs when ordering goods from abroad. This applies when importing goods into the European Union from outside the Union. These are the costs you are paying when receiving your goods that include taxes, tariffs and service costs.

What can you calculate with the import tool?
With this calculator you can estimate the costs of importing goods from outside the European Union. This will show you how much extra you will be paying over the original price of the items you want to order. This includes item costs, shipping fees, VAT, import tariffs and handling fees. It can also help you estimate the costs in your own currency rather than just the source currency.
How does this calculator work?
Select the currency where you bought your item and select which currency you want to pay in. Then enter the shipping and insurance costs. After that we get to a tricky part VAT and Tariffs. These are specific per country. Look these up at the customs services of your country. Tariffs and VAT rates of the Netherlands are given in the source links if you want to use those.
Note: The European Union has changed the rules when it comes to packages under 150 Euros. A new 3 euro fee now applies to imports below the 150 euro threshold. This customs duty is set to be temporary until july 1st 2028. The tool covers this change with the field "product categories" as this seems to be the general way countries are implemening the new duty. You will see 3 euros fee per categorty.

FAQ Section
Q: Does this calculator include all possible fees?
A: No, sort of. This tool covers tariffs, VAT and administration fees. But it does not cover any specific fees that might be levied by individual countries. And although it can be usefull for folks outside the EU, the import tool is not verified for countries outside the Union. Tariffs and other customs duties are also subject to political choices made by governments around the world. These might change at any given moment and this tool can't track them all.
Q: Are the currency rates up to date?
A: The currency exchange rates are updated regularly. Usually after the central banks update their rates, which is usually every working day.
